What is the EB Advance BB Cream?
EB Advance BB CReam is a medium to full coverage BB cream with skincare benefits from Ever Bilena. There are two shades and each tube retails for around 250 to 290 pesos or between $5 to $6.
This is my favorite local foundation from the Philippine drugstore makeup category and I have been using this on and off for the past 10 years or so. Wayyyy back when the packaging was purple and pink! Also, I want to clarify that this merits its own review because the formula is totally different from the Ever Bilena All day Liquid Foundation.
This used to be in pink and purple tube until around 2019 and then they changed the packaging when EB Advance modernized all their packaging. The product stayed the same since I first tried it in 2011 or earlier. Only the packaging changed.
The two shades are Natural and Oriental. Natural has a cool undertone while Oriental has a yellow leaning on olive undertone. Natural is also called whitening while Oriental also goes by anti-wrinkle. They function the same so I would just go by the shade names.
Oriental is too dark for me so I mix it with Natural to get my perfect shade. I wish they got more shades of this instead of just 2. The formula is really good as a full coverage BB cream for summer especially if set with EB Advance BB Compact Powder.
I have noticed that since 2018 or 2019, EB Advance and Ever Bilena products has become vegan, cruelty-free, paraben-free, and HALAL certified.
The tubes should be used for a year after opening but I find that the product stays good for a longer time than that. Up to 3 years after opening. I have forgotten my backup tubes at the back of the drawer and they're still good to use but perhaps not as safe past the 12-month mark.
Even the boxes got a packaging upgrade too.
The coverage is medium but buildable to full especially if layered with EB Advance BB Compact Powder.
All the information you need is on the packaging itself. I just mix the shades according to how light or dark my skin is throughout the year.
The finish is skin like if you use a thin layer. I simply dab in areas I need more and use all over in very thin layer to get a satin finish with skin-like coverage. If layered, you can achieve a full coverage BB cream so yes, this is great for summer!
EB Advance BB Cream Review Summary
- Consistency: A bit thick and creamy
- Texture: feels like a semi thick foundation
- Spreadability: Super easy to apply unto the skin even without primer. I prefer using my fingers instead of a brush or a sponge for this. The next best coverage is by using a sponge if you do not want to use your fingers
- Scent: It smells good and pleasant with a little typical makeup scent. Sorta fresh.
- How it feels: Not heavy when worn on the skin but at the same time you notice that you are wearing makeup
- Sensitive skin: No breakouts yay!
- White cast?: A little only for the shade Natural
- Coverage: Medium to full. Buildable and can be sheered out if you mix with moisturizer.
- Lasting power: 4-5 hours and up to 8 hours if set carefully with a lightweight powder
- Oily-skin approved?: YES!!! Can also hide small patches of dry skin.
Overall rating 4.5/5.
This is a good daily use base product for the drugstore makeup lover. Just remember to apply little by little and set with powder.
