Effective skin whitening products or skin whiteners are one of the most popular topics that people ask me about because I have fair skin for a Filipina. So what do I think about Namu SnailWhite Whipp Soap Original VS Snail White Whipp Gold Whitening Soap? Are they effective skin whiteners or are there better whitening soaps out there?
SnailWhite Whipp Soap VS Snail White Gold Namu Whitening Soap Review - Are They Effective Skin Whiteners?
What is SnailWhite Whipp Soap from NAMU?
SnailWhite Whipp Soap is a skin brightening band skin whitening facial bar from Thailand. NAMU skincare manufacturer formulated the whipp soap with snail essence so it got a characteristic-rich thick foam that helped propel it to notoriety.
There are so many whitening soaps from Thailand that use the name Snail White or SnailWhite so just being clear that I will be only talking about the SnailWhite Whipp Soap from NAMU in the original version and the newer-released gold version.
I am going to make it clear now that no soap can really whiten the skin permanently scientifically speaking. What whitening soaps can do is either to deposit a brightening pigment (popular for one day brighteners), help exfoliate to reveal whiter skin or lighter-skin, or help the skin produce newer skin faster. By having these effects combined with continuous use, the use of a whitening soaps can make it seem like it really makes the skin white although in reality it's a combination of lots of things plus sun protection to minimize the production of melanin. With this said, some soaps can achieve these effects faster and are therefore hailed as more effective skin whiteners.
I will share my experiences with skin whitening using the original SnailWhite Whipp Soap and Snail White Whipp Soap Gold and whether one of them is better than the other.
I buy SnailWhite products from their official Shopee store (CLICK THIS LINK https://shope.ee/q4lVGEcKW to avail of discounted prices) so I can be sure that they are authentic. I also get from BeautyMNL and Lazada but mostly Shopee.
SnailWhite Whipp Soap
SnailWhite Whipp Soap is a whitening soap from Thailand. It claims to be a moisturizing bar soap with skin-nourishing qualities courtesy of snail extract. Each soap is 100 grams and comes in a foil pack with a net foamer too. This soap retails for around 300 pesos or $6 in the Philippines but I bought mine in Thailand for just $3 each or around 150 pesos.
This soap comes with a net to help create the luxurious and rich facial foam it is known for. I use this whitening soaps for both my face and body and is one of my favorite summer soaps. I have been using this soap after discovering it a few years ago. You can watch my initial SnailWhite Review Video of all products from 2018-2019 near the end of this article.
SnailWhite Whipp Soap Ingredients
SnailWhite Whipp Soap Ingredients features bearberry leaf extract for skin brightening, sunflower oil, balloon vine extract, and blackcurrant seed oil to soothe the sensitive areas of the skin, plus HA LQH to refresh and hydrate the skin. The soap has plenty of skin whitening and skin brightening ingredients such as ascorbic acid or Vitamin C, Niacinamide, Snail Secretion Filtrate, and tocopherol or Vitamin E that work together to also nourish the skin and reduce inflammation in combination with Centella Asiatica Extract.
SnailWhite Whipp Soap Review
I have always been clear about how much I like the original Snail White Whipp Soap from NAMU. It is a bit drying when used in the cold months but it is perfect for maintaining even and lighter skin during warm weather. There is a slight peeling effect that isn't visible except on very dry areas of the skin which is why I don't recommend this for cold months when the skin is usually more dry. I use this for both the face and the body and one bar lasts about a month. If you use this for just the face, the soap will last a lot longer.
The scent smells like a rich refined lady but doesn't have an old floral scent. It smells almost like the lounge of an expensive hotel haha.
This soap is effective for skin lightening or brightening which some people may call skin whitening. It just gives you a more polished and even-looking skin especially if you properly moisturize or hydrate after washing with this.
I score this 4.5/5
SnailWhite Whipp Soap Gold
SnailWhite Whipp Soap Gold is the anti-aging version of the original whipp soap from NAMU. It is marketed as a facial cleanser in nourishing bar soap form that boosts radiance. One of the claims is that it gives firmer skin and a youthful glow while the luxurious foam melts away dirt and impurities for a deep but gentle clean that injects moisture on the skin. The brand says that with continued use, you get a healthy and vibrant look.
The Snail White Whipp Soap Gold retails for around 350 pesos or $7 in the Philippines but because there are so many fakes, I bought mine in Thailand for just under $4 or about 190 pesos. I also used this for both the face and body for more than 2 months and then on and off after that. I usually let the soap foam first and apply the foam on my skin when in the shower or when bathing.
SnailWhite Whipp Soap Gold Ingredients
Snail White Whipp Soap Gold Ingredients include 24K Gold to fight against free radicals in order to delay photoaging. It also has jojoba oil as part of its anti-aging formula to replenish the skin as well as reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. The collagen from the Snail Potion is supposed to accelerate the natural cell regeneration of the skin. Like the original Snail White Whipp Soap, it also has niacinamide.
SnailWhite Whipp Soap Gold Review
I do not see much of an anti-aging or skin firming effect from the Snail White Whipp Soap Gold vs the original SnailWhite Whipp Whitening Soap. If any, it is less effective at giving me a more youthful-looking skin. This soap is more drying but without the same effectiveness in terms of skin brightening so I will stick to the first version of the SnailWhite Whipp Soap.
I score this 3.5/5.
Scent has a luxurious aroma to it but I prefer the first soap. Maybe if I am older I will see a better effect? Maybe it's not very visible if you don't have wrinkles yet.
In terms of differences and the gold factor, all I see are just specks of glitters or gold leaf and the soap is a bit more rough than the original Snail White Whipp Soap.
They come in the same packaging. The only difference is the color and the text.
Both soaps lathers almost the same but the original SnailWhite Whipp Soap has a smoother and richer feel.
I buy SnailWhite products from their official Shopee store (CLICK THIS LINK https://shope.ee/q4lVGEcKW to avail of discounted prices) so I can be sure that they are authentic.
I also get from BeautyMNL and Lazada but mostly Shopee.
