Revlon Colorstay Full Cover Foundation has been a mainstay in my makeup routine for the past few weeks and I thought that since summer is in full blast where I am, then it is time to share my review for this long-wearing full coverage foundation!
By the way, I posted a review for the Revlon Colorstay Lifeproof Foundation Stick HERE and also a review for the Revlon Colorstay Endless Glow Highlighter HERE.
REVIEW Revlon Colorstay Full Cover Foundation + Shades Swatches! Great Foundation for Oily Combination Skin!
What is the Revlon Colorstay Full Cover Foundation?
This is a matte and full coverage foundation that promises not to have a heavy feel. The foundation is marketed as a lightweight foundation that feels like second skin for the whole day and night as it claims to be good up to 24 hours.
I am currently based in the Philippines and we got 24-48C temperature with up tp 80% humidity so the foundation never lasted more than 14 hours on me. With this said, a bit of blotting and some setting powder are often enough to freshen up as long as you have a good base and did not use slippery primer under. Yes, the product claims to be heat and sweat resistant but then, resistant does not mean it won't budge. Just keep this in mind and you'll be fine.
This foundation comes in a tube which I like. I am not sure about the retail price in the Philippines but this sells for around $15 USD in Amazon so I'm thinking this will probably be around 800-900 PHP. Still cheap considering similar products from mid-range brands would cost 3X.
You can compare the Revlon Colorstay Full Cover Foundation with other Revlon foundations below.
REVLON ColorStay Full Cover Foundation is available in 16 shades and sold in around 100 countries worldwide! Perhaps the only place where youwon't be able to find Revlon in stores in Antartica, haha!
Only 6 shades are available in the Philippines. I am usually shade 180 Buff so I mixed shades 150 and 210 because they were the only ones available. Didn't match me per see but the foundation preformed well! You can certainly mix shades without affecting the performance.
Revlon Colorstay Full Cover Foundation ingredients are listed at the back of the packaging. I believe these are good for 5 years or 60 months if sealed but only 24 months once opened. Still, that means the shelf-life and use-by date is twice as most other foundations so you can really maximize the use and save your money.
Each tubes comes sealed too and the tubes are made of easy-squeeze rubbery plastic. You can cut the tube when the foundation is on its last legs.
Revlon Colorstay Full Cover Foundation Shades Swatches
This foundation comes in 16 shades but only 6 are available in Revlon Philippines. If you want to get all shades, they are available in Revlon's website, Amazon, and big retailers like ULTA Beauty.
I got what I have here from L-R 150, 210, 220, 240, 340, 405 (more photos below)
I can't comment much on the other shades but at least they made the ones that are likely to match a lot of Filipinas available in the Philippines.
L-R: 150, 210, 220, 240, 340, 405
You can see that there is a mix of undertones too, from yellow, to olive, to neutral, and pink
How to use Revlon Colorstay Full Cover Foundation
- Since this is a full coverage foundation, you want to moisturize and not put the foundation until your moisturizer has been absorbed. Wait around 5 to 10 minutes before adding another layer. Full coverage foundations tend to look cakey if the skin is too dry so be sure to moisturize!
- Next is to apply a primer or sunscreen. You don't need this step if your moisturizer is enough for you.
- Get a small amount, perhaps a pea-size for the face and another to blend with the neck and ears.
- Start applying from the center of the face where most people tend to need the most coverage. If you do this, there would be less foundation for the edges and it would blend with the rest of your skin easier. You can use a brush or a sponge for this part. I prefer a foundation brush.
- Blend as needed and set with a small amount of setting powder or translucent powder.
This is how the foundation looks like after an hour of wear and with other makeup.
Below is a photo of all the shades in Amazon.
Revlon Colorstay Full Cover Foundation Review Summary
- Coverage is buildable medium to full
- Lasting power is up to 14 hours personally tested over a period of few months. After that it tends to deteriorate especially in the hot and humid Philippines weather.
- Finish is skin like more so if you don't add too much powder
- Easy to retouch or freshen up
- Noticeable makeup scent but you're probably immune to this if you've been using other Revlon foundations haha!
