Squad Cosmetics finally made it to my blog! I've been reviewing some squad cosmetics products at the vlog and instagram but I haven't written a blog post because I pretty much went AWOL from the blogging world last year. I'm going to be sharing about the Neutral Squad Eyeshadow Palette from Squad Cosmetics because it is the most versatile amongst the makeup I bought from them after they were featured in Manny MUA's video. If you're a makeup beginner and wanting to try a neutral eyeshadow palette to practice on, this palette is a good buy for you. I'm not a beginner but I enjoyed it so I am quite sure that you will too!

What is the Neutral Squad Eyeshadow Palette from Squad Cosmetics?
The NEUTRAL eyeshadow palette from Detail Cosmetics is just one of the many that they have in their arsenal. I chose to review because I think that the color selection is the most versatile plus this is one of the 4 eyeshadow palettes from their initial release.
I bought mine from their Shopee store for P199 or $4 a long time ago so I really had enough time to test this out.

Packaging
You would think that a P199 eyeshadow palette would only have a few colors but with this, you get 9 colors in shimmers, mattes, and metallics. Each pan is quite big, a little less than 1 inch in diameter and securely fastened to a peachy pink plastic palette with a clear top. I think that Squad Cosmetics really nailed the branding part with the packaging. It is no surprise for me because they are the baby sister brand of established Philippine makeup brand, Detail Cosmetics or Cosmetix Unlimited.
Is Squad Cosmetics Cruelty-FREE?
Yes! Squad Cosmetics is Cruelty-Free! They are also vegan and paraben-free if I am not mistaken. Their products are conceptualized in the Philippines, formulated in California, USA, and made in China.
Squad Cosmetics Ingredients
Each palette has a shelf life of 3 years from manufacturing but a use-by date of 24 months after opening and this is reflected in the ingredients. Powders last quite long and so the preservatives added are really just to prevent bacterial growth. The first ingredient is talc but this is a budget palette so of course, pigment won't be the first. This is also made for teenagers who are mostly beginners in makeup and so a pigmented but not super-saturated formula works well. Oils and emollients are not as much so there is a bit of fallout and powderiness but that's expected.
Squad Cosmetics Eyeshadow Palettes
This is one of the 4 that was first released. There is a peachy one (PEACH), a berry one with lots of puples and purplish shades (BERRY), neutral dark one for nighttime makeup (BOSS), and this, a mix of day time neutrals perfect for creating natural and sparkly makeup looks for the girl next door.
They have other eyeshadows in quads and nines in square pans. I haven't tried them yet.
Squad Cosmetics Eyeshadow Swatches NEUTRAL
The swatches above are over dry skin made with finger swipes. They are not this saturated or intense when applied with a brush except maybe if you use wet application. Kinda sad that the shades are not named but as you can see, plenty of matte neutrals for transition and shading plus sparkly metallics for highlighting and defining.

You can even use the browns for contouring and eyebrows like I did in the photo above. I only had the 3 Squad Cosmetics shown on my face above foundation.
Recommendations:
I really wish the shade names were named and that the pans are removable but this could be related to trying to keep production cost low. I am glad they skipped the mirror and brush usually accompanying affordable palettes because nobody uses those anyway. Also perhaps they can make the shimmers a bit less dry so the fallout won't be as severe. To minimize fallout, finger application is better than brushes.
