Korean skincare has been my skin savior since I've hit my 30s a long time ago. I used to use a lot of western skincare products but they always end up too heavy for me or just not working as claimed. This could be because they're formulated for a totally different climate but I really think that it also has something to do with certain skin characteristics that are not universal. Anyway, since I've switched to using mostly Korean skincare products, I noticed a huge difference in my skin as well as how good each product performs. I have nothing against Western skincare brands btw, but since I am currently based in the Philippines and am ethnically Asian, it just makes sense to use products that are made for Asian skin.

Korean Skincare Products for Dehydrated Sensitive Acne Prone Skin That REALLY Works
What I shared above are just a few of the reasons why I chose to switch to mostly Korean skincare products. I say mostly because I still use products from everywhere but yeah, because I have dehydrated sensitive, and acne-prone skin, it just makes more sense to make the switch.
Korean winters and summers can be very dry so a lot of their skincare is formulated to have a lot of hydrators. This means that instead of locking in or locking out moisture (like moisturizers), they actually add hydration into the skin. Korean skincare standards are also very strict so they stopped adding parabens to their products before paraben-free became mainstream. This also means that their products are usually free of irritants and this goes for the affordable Korean skincare brands too, not just the high-end ones. Back when I was buying western skincare, the ones for my skin type are usually very expensive or come in such small bottles that they end up very expensive per ml. Korean skincare products are not cheap by Filipino standards but they are more affordable per ml compared to their western counterparts.
I can go on and on why Korean skincare is great for dehydrated sensitive and acne-prone skin like mine so I will just share some of my favorites from 2019-2020. I wanted to share this last year but I went on a blogging hiatus. I have video reviews and written reviews for these products and I will link them or embed them below. I arranged them according to order of use.
BRTC Anti-Pollution Perfect Calming Cleansing Oil works really great for lifting heavy makeup especially when you double cleanse with a cleansing gel. You can watch me use this in my nighttime Korean skincare video below.
BRTC Perfect Calming Cleansing Gel can be your sole cleanser if you do not wear makeup or wear water-based products. You will need to use a cleansing balm or oil if you are wearing long-lasting products. I also used this in my video above
PureHeals Galactomyces First Essence Serum is a serum that you can use as a toner. You can soak up a mask with this and use as a soothing mask. You can use this for the 7 skins technique or just to cleanse your face with when you want to refresh it. Video for the nighttime skincare demo is above as well but another video for my morning routine is below.
Watch the video below to hear about why I love this especially for summer!
This is one of my favorite heavy-duty sleeping packs when my skin is so dry or so dehydrated. Gives an instant glow as you can watch in the review video below!
That's it! These are my favorites from 2019-2020. I have run out of everything as of now. You can buy them anywhere in the world wherever Ami Cosmetics products are sold. They are all under the same parent company Ami Cosmetics.
