Simple Skincare for Sensitive Skin - Micellar Water, Hydrating Light Moisturizer, and Eye Makeup Remover Review

Simple skincare products are not new to me. I've used their wipes for quite some time and am a fan of Simple Kind to Skin Micellar Water. I just haven't featured them in this blog because I usually just post local products reviews in here and Simple Skincare Science is a brand from the UK.

Anyway, about a week ago, I suffered some first-degree and second-degree burns on my face sustained from oil splashes while frying fish. The burns are small and are on one side of my cheek and most are first-degree oil burns. They are UGLY and oh so painful but I got a job to keep so the show must go on. I had to put on makeup and still look presentable day after day. Enter Simple skincare products for my sensitive and damaged skin.

Simple Skincare for Sensitive Skin - Micellar Water, Hydrating Light Moisturizer, and Eye Makeup Remover

What is/are Simple Skincare Science products?

Facial products from Simple Skincare Science are meant to be kind to the skin. They were designed to be used for people with sensitive skin issues (like me) because they are free from irritants and certain cosmetic compounds.

Given that I have no choice but to still wear light makeup despite of my injury (it is being treated, don't worry I will share in a future blog post), I had to make sure that the makeup removers and skincare products I use for the meantime won't aggravate my skin. Simple Skincare Science totally delivered on this and that's why I wrote this blog post.

Simple Micellar Cleansing Water

I've been using micellar water to remove my makeup so I simply switched my usual Korean skincare one to the Simple Micellar Cleansing Water. It works just as good as other micellar water products in the market but I love that there is no scent.

I've only recently discovered that most of Simple Skincare products are available in the Philippines now so I think this will be a permanent switch for me.

Simple Dual Effect Eye Makeup Remover

The Simple Dual Effect Eye Makeup Remover is a new product for me. I haven't tried this product before for my sensitive skin and I am so glad that it doesn't hurt my eyes or cause it to sting.

This makeup remover has a biphasic formula and might require at least 2 cotton balls if you're using heavy eye makeup. I got no issues with that because it was still able to take off my heavy-duty gel eyeliner so yay!

Simple Hydrating Light Moisturizer

This is my favorite in the whole bunch of these products I tried for my sensitive skin. I felt that this moisturizer did great for my damaged skin and did not cause any irritation. This is actually kinda soothing and my fave is this has no scent (I am very sensitive to scents as well).

It is now summer in the Philippines and I am loving the Simple Hydrating Light Moisturizer. It gives my skin just enough hydration without turning me into a slick grease ball (I have oily combination skin). Works well under makeup too.

this photo was taken when I was repainting my office haha!

I just got everything from my local Watson's. I think all SM Beauty outlets carry these products too. My best discovery in the bunch is definitely the Simple Hydrating Light Moisturizer because it is perfect for my sensitive skin especially in the current weather.

I'd give 4.5/5 overall score for these babies!

Injury update: face healing well and seems like there will be no scarring thanks to Simple and one of fave scar removers. Will post a scar prevention blog soon!
