I have never heard of the brand GT Cosmetics before coming across these lippies and their face powders. Probably because I mostly review colour cosmetics and their line is quite new. That's why I was so surprised that not only GT Cosmetics is a Filipino company based in Cebu but that their makeup products are actually the bomb!
Now, I don't usually review products this fast unless I am blown away and oh boy, I was!
I was expecting run of the mill products but for a small-ish brand, they sure did put a lot of thought and effort in their products. These are not simply repackaged stuff too, these are especially made for the brand. Anyway, enough of my nerdery talking about the brand and let's talk about lippies!

GT Cosmetics Color Wand Review and
Why It's One of The Best Lipsticks for Dry Lips
The ber months are upon us! My lips are cracking from the constant exposure to cold airconditioned environments and traveling. Don't get me wrong, I love liquid matte lipsticks for when I am going out or giving a lecture but for chill days, I want something more moisturizing with a dash of color.
Enter GT Cosmetics Color Wand...
Now, I usually go for long-wearing lipsticks on most days and I think that is the culprit why I've got crazy dry lips lately. Dry lips and matte liquid lipsticks do not mix, no matter how good the formula is and from whatever brand it is (my personal opinion) so I wanted a lippie that would give me a hint of color while packing a lot of moisture. I did try a lot of other brands like Jordana, Revlon, and Happy Skin and while they are nice, they're not exactly budget-friendly or easily available for most people. This is why I was so excited to try the GT Color Wands because not only are they from a Cebu-based brand but they are less than P300 per tube. They are also available online nationwide via BeautyMNL, hooray!
I appreciate the clearly printed details on the packaging. |
So, What is the GT Cosmetics Color Wand?
The GT Color Wand are a 2-in1 crayon form of lippie that promises to fill the lips with long-lasting color while providing moisture. The formula claims to be highly-pigmented and can give the wearer full coverage color. It says in BeautyMNL that the GT Color Wands leaves the lips with a vibrant velvety finish and that it moisturizes the lips with its balm formula and texture. The packaging and the stick form is meant to help the wearer achieve a perfectly drawn pout. Each tube is 3.5 grams.
and the actual lippie shade matches the sticker outside of the carton packaging. Good job GT Cosmetics! |
Do I agree with the claims above? Yes...except the long-wearing part because this lasts just 3 to 4 hours on me before needing for be reapplied. It does, however, provide up to 8 hours moisturization so that's good. I guess that for a balm, 3 to 4 hours is considered long-wearing too.
I really love the packaging. The cap stays in place and fits snuggly. No future missing caps here!
This is how the bullet looks like when the product is fully twisted. Quite a lot. I'm thinking this will last about a month if you apply the product twice a day. Not bad.
GT Cosmetics Color Wand Swatches
The swatches above are 1-swipe swatches so you can appreciate the pigmentation and see the texture. the 3rd and 5th shade from the top are their matte formulas while the rest are their cream-satin formulas.
The GT Color Wand swatches above were created using 2 layers of the product so you can see how opaque they can be when applied for coverage.

- Kiss in Paris -- is a bright warm almost firetruck red. "Lakas makaputi" shade.
- Seoul & Heart -- is a vibrant fuchsia perfect for fair mestizas. It can be too bright for morenas but go with what you want. The shade can be sheered out as a blush too.
- Sunset Greece -- is a neutral dark brown. I love this shade! I also tried using this as a cream contour and it works great for my fair skin. On the lips it is super 'edgy'. This only goes satin matte, not flat matte.
- NYC Rush -- is a neutral salmon peach. This is a great MLBB shade or nude shade for most Filipinas, whether with fair or dark skin. For my skintone, can be worn as a blush too.
- London Royale -- is an intense dark berry-maroon shade. I think they created this shade to complement both cool and warm undertones. Good job GT Cosmetics! This is also satin matte like Sunset Greece.
- Kyoto Cherry Blossoms -- is a 'bright' mauve. This will be the MLBB that I can recommend for morenas. Very office and school friendly too.
My favorite shade is when I mix NYC Rush and Kyoto Cherry Blossoms. I wish they create shades named after Manila and Cebu too. That would be awesome!
